Welcome to DoctorDoctor.ca. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website and services. By accessing or using DoctorDoctor.ca, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using any part of DoctorDoctor.ca, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify registered users by email when material changes are made.

Eligibility

To use DoctorDoctor.ca, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a resident of Canada or a licensed medical professional practising in Canada.
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian may create an account on your behalf.

Account registration

When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Create only one account per person.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or contain inaccurate information.

Verification and payment

  • Verification fee: All users (patients and doctors) pay a one-time identity verification fee to access platform features. The current fee is displayed during the verification process.
  • Identity verification: Users must complete identity verification through Stripe Identity by uploading a government-issued photo ID and a selfie. This ensures the safety and integrity of the platform for all users.
  • One-time charge: The verification fee is a single, non-recurring payment. There are no subscriptions, auto-renewals, or ongoing charges.
  • Refund policy: The verification fee is non-refundable once the identity verification process has been initiated.
  • Payment processing: All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By paying, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

User conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit fake, misleading, or defamatory reviews.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
  • Register as a doctor without valid medical credentials.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access or collect data from the platform.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other user accounts or our systems.
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the platform.
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
  • Use the platform to send unsolicited communications or spam.

Intellectual property

All content on DoctorDoctor.ca, including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, is the property of DoctorDoctor.ca or its content suppliers and is protected by Canadian and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on our platform without our prior written consent.

By submitting a review or other content to the platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with our services.

Limitation of liability

DoctorDoctor.ca is not a medical advice platform. No doctor-patient relationship is created through your use of our website. We do not endorse, recommend, or guarantee any specific doctor listed on our platform.

Our platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DoctorDoctor.ca shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the platform. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
