The circle that connects you to the right doctor

Every doctor defines a catchment area around their office. If your home address falls inside that circle, you are matched.

Inside the circle

Your home address is within the doctor's catchment radius. The doctor appears in your search results, and you can view their full profile, ratings, and contact details. You are matched.

Outside the circle

Your home address is beyond the doctor's catchment radius. The doctor does not appear in your results. This keeps matches relevant — you only see doctors who serve your area.

FAQs

Everything you need to know about how DoctorDoctor matches patients with doctors.

Each doctor sets their own catchment area by placing a pin on the map at their office location and dragging a radius circle around it. The radius is measured in kilometres and represents the maximum distance from the office that the doctor is willing to accept new patients from. The system uses the haversine formula to calculate the real-world distance between your home and the doctor's office.
Yes. Doctors can adjust their catchment radius at any time from their dashboard. If a doctor expands their circle, more patients in the surrounding area will see them in search results. If they shrink it, some patients may no longer be matched. Changes take effect immediately.
If no doctors currently cover your home address, you can still create an account. As new doctors register and set their catchment areas, you will automatically appear in their coverage if your address falls within their circle. We are actively onboarding doctors across Canada.
Doctor registrations are reviewed and verified within one to two business days. Once approved, their practice and catchment area are immediately visible to patients. We verify medical credentials to ensure every listed doctor is licensed to practice in their province.
You can create a free account and see how many doctors cover your area. To view doctor profiles, contact details, and ratings, a household subscription of $100 CAD per year is required. One subscription covers everyone living at your address — no per-person fees.
